Onboarding redesign for a mobile app

A UX audit found where new users stopped; the redesign only touched those screens.

Rather than redesign the whole app, we audited the first-run experience and found three specific drop-off points: a permissions screen asked too early, a form that needed information the user did not have yet, and an empty home screen with nothing to do.

The redesign moved permissions to the moment they are needed, split the form, and gave the empty state a single clear first action. Everything else in the app was left alone — deliberately.
